Lyan Babilonia / Updated Nov 03,2023 | Pub Nov 03,2023

Dance, sing, and groove to the rhythm with DishLATINO! This satellite television provider offers channels that host various Spanish-language Latin Music Awards. You’ll find Premios Lo Nuestro, Premios Juventud, Latin Grammy Awards, Billboard Latin Music Awards, and Latin AMAs.

What are the music awards about?

Hispanic Music Awards recognize exceptional artists in specific categories such as Record of the Year, Best Song, Best Artist, Best Artist by Gender (e.g., Salsa, bachata, urban music, regional Mexican, pop, etc.), Best New Artist, Best Collaboration, and Video of the Year. If you’re interested in seeing the winners, performances, and fashion on the red carpets, you’ll find everything in one place.

Channels like Telemundo and Univision air some of these galas, and they are available in all DISH packages. Here, you’ll find the events that you can’t afford to miss.

Latin Grammy Awards

People of Hispanic heritage have much to offer musically, and The Latin Recording Academy recognizes the most talented singers.

The Academy honors artistic and technical excellence in recordings in Spanish and English. Peers within the music industry vote, evaluate and rate the artists.

The winners take home a statuette almost identical to the one at the Grammy Awards. Shakira, Rosalía, Bad Bunny, Karol G, Becky G, Marc Anthony, Carlos Vives, Camilo and Juan Luis Guerra have resonated in recent years.

The first Latin Grammy show aired on CBS in 2000, and marked the first time a program in Spanish was aired by an American network. Its success has been evident since the very beginning. Now, Univision airs the Latin Grammy Awards, which is considered one of the flagship shows in its programming lineup.

Billboard Latin Music Awards

The Billboard Latin Music Awards celebrate the achievements of the top artists and songs in Spanish, based on the Billboard charts. The judges consider factors such as radio and online reproductions, as well as album and single sales.

Billboard 2023 dominated the primetime schedule with 2.6 million viewers, according to Nielsen data.

During the event, there were several memorable moments. One of them was when Marc Anthony and Pepe Aguilar performed the song “Ojalá Te Duela." Another significant moment was when Chiquis Rivera honored her mother, Jenny.

The performances by Banda Los Sebastianes and Calibre 50 were energetic. They sang “Basta Ya,” “Inolvidable,” and “Ya Lo Sé.” Bad Bunny electrified the stage with “Moscow Mule,” “Titi Me Preguntó,” “Neverita,” and his new song “Where She Goes.”

What unites these artists is their common desire to receive the Billboard magazine award. Artists like Peso Pluma, Christian Nodal, Bad Bunny, Karol G, and Eslabón Armado work tirelessly to shine every year.

Latin AMAs

The Latin American Music Awards showcase various artists every year, including Anuel AA, Wisin, Prince Royce, Carlos Vives, Olga Tañón, Natti Natasha, and Jesse y Joy. Prominent Mexican musicians, like Angela Aguilar and Carín Léon, frequently take the stage. Other artists, such as Peso Pluma and Grupo Frontera, often join them.

The audience determines the best artist in various categories. The public chooses the winners through online voting, and a panel of experts evaluates them.

To watch your favorite singers, tune into Telemundo or Univision, depending on the rights for that year. Regardless of which television network airs the Latin AMAs, you’ll have access with your DISH satellite television package.

Lo Nuestro Awards

Premios Lo Nuestro by Univision originated in 1989 and remains one of the most important events in Latin music. The leaders of Mexican music, reggaeton, trap, Latin pop and tropical music come together to celebrate their legacy. You won’t be able to tear your eyes away from the TV for a single minute.

Premios Juventud

Premios Juventud stands out for honoring artists who have strong appeal among young audiences. Unlike the other musical events mentioned here, it doesn’t just recognize music – it also celebrates pop culture.

This celebration features special categories like Network Artist for social media influencers, Favorite Movie, and Favorite Series. The fans ultimately choose the winners through a voting process.

The Premios Juventud is broadcast on Univision.
